Branching Out

26 October 2007 by Simon Mone

It has gone past 1 o'clock in the morning and Doug and I have joined Adam in New Zealand and Chris and John from Immediacy in Australia for a live demo to a NZ client. It is just the start for us in this part of the world but already I'm thinking of the time (in the near future) when the NZ team is bigger and more autonomous.

The truth is that Adam doesn't need us to do this. He's more than capable, but it's the first one and I want to be able to say 'remember when we used to do webex's through the night when we were just a new business in this part of the world?'.

All the start up books tell you you need to learn to let go. Not hanging up the phone just yet.

My funny memory will be when my cat, who was sitting on the seat next to me, fell asleep and started snoring loudly. I was worried it was going to be heard over the audio and everyone might think it was me. Honest, it was the cat!

Thanks for another good entry. Where else could anybody get that kind of info in such a perfect way of writing.

There are certainly a lot of details like that to take into consideration. That is a great point to bring up. I offer the thoughts above as general inspiration but clearly there are questions like the one you bring up where the most important thing will be working in honest good faith. I don?t know if best practices have emerged around things like that, but I am sure that your job is clearly identified as a fair game.
